This month has been one of many ups and downs. Elephant have been very prevalent in our area but the lion were scarce with few sighting that did not offer great viewing. That changed over the last few days as we were able to find two of the tembe lioness with the cubs no less than 8 times over 8 days all with good visibility. March madness capped it off with a kill not 20m in front of the vehicle followed by the two lioness with the cubs on an ostrich kill the following morning and culminating in the best sighting we have had of the cubs so far.
Birds on the whole have been good with plenty of small raptors and a couple unusual visitors namely black stork and a lesser flamingo another first in the reserve for us.
