Dinokeng offers a wide variety of woodland habitats, including very fine broadleaved woodland, which is host to a number of bird specials. The area is good for raptors such as African Cuckoo-Hawk , Lizard Buzzard and Black-breasted Snake Eagle. Most local birders come here for woodland specials such a Greencapped Eremomela, Tinkling Cisticola and Pallid Flycatcher.
Dinonayne Bush Lodge is located within broad leaved woodland and a number of birds can be seen in the lodge depending on the time of year.
